Butterflies & Sashiko

This is a popular pattern and a good introduction to the Art of Sashiko.

This quilt was inspired by a 200 year old kimono and uses traditional elements of Japanese art: clouds, bamboo and clamshells. The Butterflies are formed from Marjorie Lee Bevis marbled Cotton. Pattern includes detailed sashiko, appliqué and finishing techniques.
